Greetings! This morning I decided to look again at some photos I took at the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center in Chantilly. I really like to read more about the planes from the museum and the idea of taking the photos preserves them better for future review.
Here is the Aichi M6A1 Seiran (Clear Sky Storm) – only one remaining in the entire world. This really sleek seaplane was designed to be launched from the Japanese submarines.
There is also amazing history about how this particular seaplane ended up in the Smithsonian collection.
Here is the link to the history and detailed description on the Smithsonian website!
Here are other posts from the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center – this place is not getting old 🙂 (Vought F4-1D Corsair, Horten HO III F, Panoramas of Museum, Restoring the glory, WW II airplanes, Modern Military aircraft). Enjoy!
